(rhizome) Medicines: laxatives, etc.
Description
A forest herb to 1·90 m high; flowers pink, borne at ground level; in Sierra Leone to Ghana.It is recorded as being the commonest forest species in Ghana (3). The rhizome is boiled and the liquid is drunk for constipation (1).
