Notes
Tardieu-Blot (Mém. I.F.A.N. 28: 94 (1953)) sinks this into A. confine and at Kew the isotype had been placed under ‘variants of A. incisum ’. Following Schelpe, at present I prefer to keep it separate. The unmounted Songea material discovered at Kew long after this account was drafted had ‘ Adiantum edgeworthii ?’ written on the covers by F. Jarrett. There is no doubt it is extremely close but with so little material I have refrained from sinking A. stolzii into this Himalayan species. There are some differences in the disposition of the sori. A. edgeworthii was described by Hooker (Sp. Fil. 2: 14, t. 81b (1858)). Type: India, Punjab, near Mooltan, Adah Valley, Edgeworth s.n., (? ubi, K sheet has wrong locality).
