Information
Semi-procumbent to erect herb to 90 cm; stem fleshy, glabrous, often tinged red. Leaves sessile, membranous, linear-lanceolate, 4–21 cm long, 0.3–1.7 cm wide, margins sub-entire to minutely to coarsely serrate, apex acuminate, glabrous. Inflorescence bracts minute, 5 mm or less; capitula 2–8, stalks of individual capitula (1.4–)3.3–7.2 cm, sparsely to densely pubescent; phyllaries 4–5 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, sometimes tinged red. Corolla 4 mm long; style-arms sparsely covered with short black hairs. Achenes tuberculate or occasionally glandular without apparent tubercles.

USES.None recorded on specimens from our areaCONSERVATION Least concern (LC) There is little material of this subspecies at Kew. It may turn out to be related to the A. angustifolia Arn. described from India which also has narrow lanceolate leaves, but has the smaller heads of A. viscosum. Again, this taxon is poorly represented at Kew.
