Information
Herb or subshrub, either erect and 0.6–0.9 m tall or trailing and 0.5–2 m long but with erect leaves and inflorescences; stems pale or dark, angular or ribbed, sparsely to densely pubescent. Leaflets 3, 5–15.5 × 1.6–7 cm, oblong, oblong-lanceolate, elliptic-oblong, broadly elliptic or almost round, rounded to slightly emarginate at the apex, rounded to subcordate at the base, very sparsely pubescent to glabrous on upper surface, glabrous beneath, same usually for pubescence on venation beneath; petiole 3–13 cm long, channelled; rhachis 0–1.2 cm long; petiolules 1.5–3.5 mm long, densely pubescent; stipules 2–8 mm long, lanceolate; stipels 2–4 mm long, filiform. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, simple or branched, 2.5–36 cm long, shorter than to much longer than the leaves; peduncles or apparent peduncles 0–13 cm long; pedicels 3–8 mm long; axes yellowish ferruginous pubescent; bracts narrowly ovate, soon falling; bracteoles 4–5 mm long, linear-lanceolate. Calyx glandular pubescent; tube 3–4 mm; upper lobes 6 mm long, joined for about half their length; lateral lobes 6.5 mm long, oblong-lanceolate; lowest lobe 6.5–11 mm long, lanceolate. Corolla bright pink, blue, purple or white; standard 10 × 9 mm, round to obovate, auriculate with 2 mm long claw; wings 8 × 3 mm with 4 mm long claw; keel 6 mm long. Pods 4.5 × 1.4 cm, oblanceolate-falcate, puberulous and glandular. Seeds not seen.
