Information
Always flowering at apices of leafy shoots so far as is known. Leaflets densely pubescent to velvety beneath. Flowers mostly white. Pods often larger, up to 5.7 cm long.
Habitat
Brachystegia woodland including wooded lakeside slopes, woodland edges and stream banks, old garden sites (i.e. native cultivations).

Notes
Hooper & Townsend 326 and E.A. Robinson 604 from the same locality have more narrowly acute leaflets than any other material of the species. Jackson states that stems are burnt off each year. It seems clear that in this subspecies precocious inflorescences from the rootstock are not produced. Wilczek determined Gomes e Sousa 1110 (Mozambique, N, Massangulo, i.1933) as Adenocarpus cf. harmsianus.
