Information
Shrub up to 2.5 m high, branching from the base, or sometimes a tree up to 5 m high; young branchlets villous with spreading hairs. Stipular spines straight, slender, up to 5 cm long. Leaves: pinnae (1–)4–9 pairs; leaflets 7–15 pairs, 2–7 x 0.8–1.75 mm. Flowers white, in heads; peduncles 0.7–2 cm long; involucel basal or in lower quarter of peduncle; bracteoles glabrous or almost so. Calyx c. 2 mm long, glabrous or almost so. Corolla c. 2.5 mm long, with the lobes conspicuously pubescent outside. Pods somewhat falcate, coriaceous, attenuate basally and apically, dehiscent, 6–12.5 x 0.6–1 cm, densely clothed with whitish spreading hairs up to 4 mm long. Seeds ellipsoid, 6–8 x 4.5–5 mm, minutely wrinkled.
