Information
Tree, 2.5–14 m high; branchlets glabrous to tomentose. Stipular spines up to 8 cm long, straight or almost so, often deflexed. Leaves: pinnae 2–14 pairs, leaflets (7–)12–27(–36) pairs; 1.5–7 x 0.5–1.5 mm. Flowers bright yellow, in heads; peduncles up to 4.5 cm long; involucel from near the base to about halfway up the peduncle, often subtending a few additional flowers. Calyx 1–2 mm long. Corolla 2.5–3.5 mm long. Pods straight or slightly curved, indehiscent, 8–17(–22) x 1–2.2 cm, with entire margin or ± deeply constricted between the seeds, glabrous to tomentose. Seeds 6.5–9 x 5–8 mm; areole 5–7 x 4–7 mm.
