ACACIA moggii Thulin & Tardelli [family LEGUMINOSAE-MIMOSOIDEAE], (1988);. type: Somalia, C2, 320 km on the road between Muqdisho and Beled Weyne, Moggi, Tardelli & Warfa 54 (FT holo., B FT UPS iso.).
Information
Shrubby spreading tree to 6 m tall; young branchlets sparsely pilose, glabrescent. Prickles solitary, hooked downwards, 2–3 mm long. Leaves: petiole usually with a scarcely raised circular gland c. 0.2 mm in diam.; pinnae 1–2 pairs; leaflets 3–5 pairs, 1.5–2.5(–4) x 0.6–1.2(–1.5) mm, glabrous. Flowers with pink filaments, in 7–15-flowered, 12–18 mm long spikes. Calyx 1.5–2 mm long. Corolla c. 2.5 mm long. Pods straight, c. 20–30 x 12–17 mm, completely glabrous, red brown, 1–2-seeded.

C2 (S of Beled Weyne) not known elsewhere.
Altitude range
150–325 m.
