Information
Shrubby herb or subshrub, up to 3 m tall, all parts shortly tomentose without long simple hairs. Leaves with 1.5–8 cm long petiole; blade ovate-triangular, up to 5 x 3.5 cm, cordate at the base, acute to rounded at the apex, with coarsely dentate margins. Flowers in a narrow terminal panicle or in leaf axils; pedicels 1.5–5 cm long. Calyx 7–10 mm long, lobed for c. 2/3 of the length. Petals 10–18 mm long, salmon pink, sometimes with darker base. Mericarps c. 15, 10–16 x 6–8 mm, 2–3-seeded, outer edge slightly rounded meeting the rounded upper edge in an up to c. 1 mm long awn, pubescent, papery and brittle. Seeds c. 2.5 mm long, sparsely glandular puberulous.
