The Laboratory's research mission is to select plant species for field work and laboratory use and to collect and provide samples of all plant species that are known or unknown in Senegal and the West African region. We also plan to build a collection of seagrass with reference samples, that will be maintain in good condition and enrich. We identify plants for academics, researchers, students, teachers and their students and practitioners. Along with classification we also study both field and laboratory geographical distribution, ecology, vegetation (vegetation, flora, plant communities) and the utilities and uses of plants by man and animals (ethnobotany) for all practical purposes. Finally we contribute to training and promoting teachers, researchers, students, naturo therapists, in the fields of plant cultivate and plant acclimation for warm and tropical climates.
