Information
Perennial herb or subshrub up to 1 m tall; young stems tomentose with yellowish to brownish spreading hairs. Leaves yellowish pubescent to tomentose; petiole 5–35 mm long; stipules 5–18 mm long; blade ovate to elliptic, 30–130 x 15–60 mm, subacute to rounded at the apex, with serrate margins. Flowers solitary or in 2–4-flowered tomentose cymes; peduncle 15–80 mm long; pedicels up to 17 mm long; epicalyx bracts 7–13 x 4–8 mm, ovate-acuminate with cordate base, tomentose. Sepals 10–13(–20 in fruit) x 3–5 mm, tomentose; petals 7–11 mm long; staminodes 3–7 mm long; style 0.5–3 mm long. Capsule 7–12 mm long, ovoid, tomentose, with (2–)4–5-seeded cells. Seeds 2–2.5 mm long, with scattered tubercles.
