Information
Shrub or tree, densely covered with silky hairs; stems with distinct scars from fallen leaves. Leaves fleshy; blades ± narrowly obovate, 10–30 x 3.5–11 cm, rounded to subacute at the apex, tapering into a petiole at the base. Flowers sessile, very numerous, fragrant, densely placed in 2 ranks. Calyx 1.5–2(–3) mm long; lobes triangular to rounded. Corolla white to pinkish; tube 1.5–2 mm long; limb 4–7 mm wide. Stigmatic head crowned by 2 rigid lobes. Fruit 4–8 mm in diam., the upper part occupied by the endocarp that breaks into 2 parts.
Range
S3 Kenya, Mozambique, Madagascar to tropical Asia, tropical Australia and Polynesia.
