Information
leaves alternate, crowded at the tops of the branches, oblong, tapering at base and shortly petiolate, mucronulate, quite entire, clothed with silky, appressed hairs on both surfaces; spikes shorter than the leaves, pedunculate, ovate or oblong, silky; drupe broad-winged, reddish. Branches glabrous, dichotomous or trichotomous. Leaves oblong or obovate-oblong, narrowing into a short petiole, 2 1/2â3 inches long, nearly an inch broad. Spikes pedunculate, shorter than the leaves. Flowers small. Drupe glabrous, 1â1 1/4 inch long, 9â10 lines broad. Seed ovate, 4 lines long.
