Information
young twigs and leaves tomentose-canescent; leaves opposite, oblong-linear, sessile, flat, thickish, obtuse or subacute, crowded, somewhat nerve-keeled; heads oval, pluri-flowered, terminal, solitary, sessile; invol.-scales dorsally cobweb-tomentose, ovate-oblong or ovate, obtuse, membrane-edged and ciliolate-lacerate; achenes silky-villous. A small, scrubby, hairy bush; the older branches becoming glabrous. Lvs. 4–5 lines long, 1–2 l. wide. Heads 3/4 in. long, 3–4 l. in diam. DC.'s P. canescens quite agrees with the original specimens of Pt. cinerea, in Hb. Thunb.
