Information
suffruticose, decumbent, thinly stellato-pubescent; stems filiform; leaves shortly petiolate, oblong, coarsely toothed, obtuse at both ends, or sub-acute, the younger ones fasciculate-pubescent, the older glabrescent; stipules cut or palmatifid, shorter than the petioles; peduncles shorter than the leaves; bracts connate below; calyx deeply 5-cleft, with hairy, ovate-acute lobes 2/3 as long as the narrow-obovate petals; capsule oblong, stellato-pubescent or glabrous. Allied to M. veronicæfolia, but less woody, more hairy, and with a different structure of hair; with smaller flowers, narrower petioles, shorter peduncles and divided stipules. The peduncles very rarely exceed the leaves in length. Flowers small, yellow.
