Tuber carrot-shaped, milky. Stems 12–20 in. high, simple or slightly branched, pubescent, principally along two lines. Leaves spreading; petiole 1–1 1/2 lin. long; blade 1 1/2–4 in. long, 4–8 lin. broad, narrowly oblong, acute, cordate, subcordate or rounded at the base, both sides with a minute sparse pubescence. Umbels about 3, corymbose at the apex of the stem, few-flowered; peduncles 3–4 lin. long, subtomentose; bracts 1–1 1/2 lin. long, subulate, subtomentose; pedicels 1 1/2–3 lin. long, subtomentose. Sepals 1 1/2–1 3/4 lin. long, lanceolate, acute, subtomentose. Corolla-lobes ascending, with revolute tips, 2 1/2–2 3/4 lin. long, 3/4 lin. broad, linear-oblong, obtuse, pubescent on the back. Coronal-lobes arising at the base of the staminal-column, petaloid, 3–3 1/2 lin. long, 2–2 1/4 lin. broad, complicate in the basal half, with the inflexed margins produced into erect linear acute teeth, with a similar tooth between them on the face of the claw; upper half expanded into a broad flat spreading obovate-oblong or subelliptic blade, toothed all round. Anther-appendages ovate, acute, erect, connivent, twice as long as the apical part of the style which is rather short, subcapitate and furrowed.
