Information
stem slender, 1 ft. or more long, sparingly branched; leaves close together especially in the upper part of the stem, linear, acuminate, very minutely serrulate, glabrous, 1-nerved, about 9 lin. long, 1/3 lin. wide; spathe compressed, 2-lobed, serrulate all round the margin; male flower: perianth-lobes obovate, the outer slightly larger than the inner; filaments subulate; anthers dorsifixed, sagittate, mucronate; staminodes 3, filiform, scabrous, twice as long as the stamens; female flower: perianth-tube very slender, 1 1/2 in. long; limb 1 1/2 lin. in diam.; lobes obovate, the outer the larger; staminodes 6, short, inserted in the throat of the perianth-tube; style shortly exserted; stigmas 3, short, forked; pericarp membranous. null
