Information
annual or biennial, quite glabrous, glaucous; stems prostrate, branched; leaves opposite or tufted, fleshy, linear-terete, obtuse, attenuate at base, radical none; stipulary sheaths wide, with subulato-acuminate teeth; peduncles axillary 3–4 times shorter than the leaf, 2–3 flowered; pedicels equalling the peduncle; sepals very smooth; stamens 3; seeds reniform, minutely roughened. 2–3 inches high, leafy. Root sub-simple. Stems numerous, dichotomous, somewhat knee-bent. Leaves erect, 1/2–1 inch long 1/2–1 line wide, longer than the internodes. Peduncles erect, pedicels longer than the calyx, bracteate at base. Disc fleshy. Sepals elliptic, sub-petaloid, 1 line long. Stamens on the disc: anthers subglobose. Stigmata 3 sessile. Capsule 3-celled, 3-valved, loculicidal; cells many-seeded. Seeds blackish.
