Notes
The Zimbabwe plant in more slender, less hairy, and with smaller leaves than the type. Corby 1031 (Zimbabwe, Marondera, 19.ii.1962) has been annotated Desmodium cf. leiocarpum G. Don. by Schubert but is only in flower and its identity is not certain. This species is vegetatively similar to D. discolor but the articles are 5-6 x 3.5-4 mm, elliptic, and much more distictly reticulately veined.
