Information
Coarse annual herb, up to 2 m high, glabrous in all parts. Leaves with petiole 5–40 mm long; blade narrowly ovate, ovate or elliptic, 2.5–17 x 1–5 cm, acuminate to acute at the apex, rounded at the base, with up to 15 mm long basal setae, with serrate margin. Flowers in 1(–2)-flowered clusters; peduncle and pedicels up to 2 mm long. Sepals 5, 4–7 x 1–1.5 mm, distinctly ciliolate at base. Petals 5, 5–7 x 1–2 mm. Stamens 25–50. Ovary minutely setulose. Capsule (4–)5-valved, 2–8 cm long, cylindric, straight or slightly curved on erect pedicels, glabrous and smooth. Seeds 1.5–2 mm long, irregularly ribbed.
