Information
Nearly glabrous. Leaves on sterile stem not seen. Fertile stems 8–12 in. long, simple, leafless, with 2 or 3 distant leaf-sheaths; free point to the leaf-sheaths less than 1/4 in. long. Spathes solitary, on peduncles up to 2 1/2 in. long, simply folded, the margins hardly united at the base, 1/2– 2/3 in. long, ovate, shortly acuminate. Seeds normally 5 to the capsule, those in the ventral cells slightly pitted and tubercular.
