Information
A s all branched annual herb, 6–8 in. high, hairy or hirsute, stem terete. Leaves 1 1/2–2 1/2 in. by 3/4–1 1/4 in., membranous, ovate, subcordate, acute, obtusely denticulate, 5-nerved, hairs on both surfaces scattered, spreading; petiole 3/4–1 1/2 in. Flowers solitary or few in terminal corymbs, subsessile. Calyx-tube turbinate or obconic, strigose; limb sinuately 5-lobed. Petals broad. Anthers unequal, linear-oblong, obtuse; filaments short, flattened; connective not produced, dilated at the base. Capsule 1/3 in., turbinate; scales projecting beyond the calyx-tube.
