Information Perennial, all parts excluding flower pilose with long spreading hairs. Leaves several, loosely associated in a tuft, young ones sessile, flowering ones becoming conspicuously stalked, stalk (petiolode) up to c. 35 mm. long, pilose, lamina linear-oblong to almost ovate, variable both in size and shape, apparently not exceeding c. 10 × 4 cm., base subcordate to cuneate, margin finely crenate-dentate. Inflorescences 1 or 2 at junction of blade and stalk, few-flowered. Peduncles up to c. 60 mm. long; pedicels up to c. 12 mm. long, both wiry. Bracts minute. Calyx divided to the base into 5 linear-lanceolate segments c. 2 mm. long, pilose. Corolla c. 13 mm. long, sparsely pubescent with glandular and eglandular hairs, white, magenta-pink strip on each lobe and spotted magenta-pink on floor of tube and base of lower Up; tube narrowly funnel-shaped, slightly curved, 9 mm. long, c. 2 mm. across mouth; limb oblique, upper lip of 2 oblong-elliptic lobes 3 × 2 mm., lower lip 5.5 mm. long, lobes oblong-elliptic, 4 × 2.5 mm. Stamens arising in upper third of corolla tube; filaments c. 2 mm. long; anther lobes <1 mm. long; staminodes minute. Ovary 3 mm. long; style 6 mm. long, dorsoventrally compressed; stigma stomatomorphic, papillose. Capsule c. 8–15 × 1.5 mm. long, densely clothed in long spreading hairs, crowned with the persistent style. Seeds 0.3–0.4 mm. long, reticulate.
