Prostrate or trailing perennial herb; stems pubescent. Leaflets 3, broadly ovate to oblate, 0.6–2.5 x 0.8–3 cm, pubescent on both sides, gland-dotted beneath. Inflorescences short and dense; rhachis 0.5–1.5 cm long. Calyx pubescent; tube c. 1 mm long; lobes lanceolate, 2.5–4 mm long. Standard yellow inside, reddish-brown outside, c. 5.5 mm long, pubescent. Pod 8–11 x 4 mm, covered with short hairs, long hairs and gland-dots.

Subshrub, up to 40 cm high; young branches and leaves silvery villous with mixed long and short hairs. Leaf-blades elliptic to obovate, 6–30 x 2.5–17 mm, obtuse to acute and apiculate at the apex, cuneate at the base; petiole 1–5 mm long. Flowers axillary, solitary or paired; peduncle absent; pedicel 0–0.5 mm long; bracts linear, 1–1.5 mm long, villous. Sepals unequal, elliptic to oblanceolate, 2.5–5 x 1–2.5 mm, acute to acuminate. Corolla white, 4.5–6.5 mm long, midpetaline areas pubescent. Ovary villous; stigmas spathulate to subreniform. Capsule hairy, 2.5–3 mm long. Seeds angled, c. 2.5 x 1.5 mm.

Shrub or small tree, up to 3 m high; young branches brownish puberulous with scattered stellate hairs, older branches glabrous, pale brown to grey with numerous pale white lenticels. Leaves green above, pale green below, glabrous or with minute scattered hairs on veins; petiole 2.5–4 mm long, brown, puberulous; blade elliptic, 1.5–8 x 1–4 cm, obtuse to subacute at the apex, rounded at the base, with crenate margin. Inflorescences axillary, solitary or rarely 2 in each axil, very slender, with 3 flowers, 1–2.5(–3.5 in fruit) cm long; peduncle 5–16(–18.5) mm long; pedicel 4–8(–10.5) mm long. Sepals elliptic, 4.5–6 mm long. Petals yellow, oblong to obovate, 2.5–3.5 mm long, with or without nectar-producing claw. Ovary 2-celled with 4 ovules in each cell, villous; style with 4–5 broad stigma-lobes. Fruit 2-lobed or unlobed by abortion, each lobe 4–5 mm in diam.; stone rugose.

Inflorescence a (1–)3(–5)-flowered cyme, 1–3 in a leaf axil, the axes densely stellate-pubescent; bracts ovate to ovate-lanceolate, up to 6 mm long, entire, bifid or trifid; peduncles 6–15 mm long; pedicels 4–11 mm long.
