Information Plant 1 1/2 ft. high. Branches puberulous. Leaves linear or linear-lanceolate, obtuse, puberulous, or glabrous, 3–6 lin. long. Racemes short, loosely arranged along the branches. Bracts oblong, obtuse, ciliate at the base, 1 lin. long. Flowers subsessile. Calyx campanulate, puberulous, 5-lobed, 3/4 lin. long; lobes linear-oblong, obtuse, ciliate, divided almost to the base, two lower rather longer than the upper. Corolla-tube 1 1/2 lin. long; lobes rounded-oblong, a third as long as the tube. Fruit broadly ovoid-globose, somewhat compressed, 3/4 lin. long.

Information Scrambling or decumbent perennial woody herb or subshrub to 30 cm. tall; branches lax, erect, suberect or prostrate, densely pubescent, moderately leafy throughout. Leaves 5–15 x 0.8–3 mm., linear, linear-lanceolate or oblong, obtuse, narrowed at base, entire, minutely hispid-pubescent, alternate to nearly opposite. Inflorescence 3.5–10(25) cm. long, elongate-paniculate of many small pedunculate heads; heads 5–10 x 5–7 mm., circular to broadly oblong, appearing secund where flowering branches are prostrate. Peduncles 5–15(20) mm. long, slender, densely pubescent. Bracts 2–3 mm. long, oblong to obovate-oblong, obtuse, minutely hispid, ciliate at base. Calyx 1.5–2 mm. long, campanulate, pubescent, 5-lobed to midway or below; lobes c. 1 mm. long, narrowly triangular to linear-oblong, acuminate to obtuse, ciliate, subequal, equal to or longer than tube. Corolla white, through pink to lavender or pale blue; tube 3–4 mm. long; lobes 1–1.2 x 0.7 mm., circular-oblong. Capsule c. 1.5 x 1.8 mm., broadly ovoid-globose, slightly compressed, valves asymmetric, smooth.
